Hello! I am Søren Asmussen, working
in applied probability.
I am born 1946 and started my PhD studies in classical
branching processes in 1972,
but switched area around 1980. Since then main
themes have been queueing theory, insurance risk,
and simulation methodology (a bit of mathematical finance and statistics too).
Since February 1, 2003, I am Professor of Applied Probability at
Aarhus University, Denmark
(expected retirement at the end of
2017).
Earlier long-term appointments are at the universities in Copenhagen,
Aalborg and Lund (Sweden).
